We continue serialization of Empowered vol. 12, which proved to be the final volume of the series in this specific graphic-novel format, though I was unaware of that unfortunate reality when I started work on the book.
Panel 1: Yeahp, I decided that the lower curve of Emp's hip looked too good to cut off with a panel border.
Panel 5: As noted yesterday, the details of the "damsel-in-distress" imagery I draw in this series (and elsewhere) are constantly shifting because I just do not care about such precise continuity; for example, her left arm and hand seem uppermost in panel 1, but are lowermost in panel 5 because, well, why not?
BTW, I was almost certainly working from Japanese shibari photoreference in panel 5, given the unusually precise depiction of ropework, as opposed to my usual, nigh-nonsensical depiction of a hodgepodge of knots and rope scattered all higgledy-piggledly. (Note that I had to look up how to spell "higgledy-piggledly" correctly, alas.)
Today’s Patreon update: Originally done as a means of scratching out more worktime to complete the long-gestating Empowered vol. 12, I've switched over to a Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday Patreon posting schedule that won't feature the fixed content format I previously used. So, who knows what today's post might feature? Could be Life Drawing or Distressed Damsels content (both of which are featured at least three times per month), or something in the Work Stages, Vintage Con Sketches or Design departments, or possibly something entirely new, such as updates on fantasy test projects Crazy Witch, The Last Party and The Chaste and the Chained. Golly!
